2012 Oscar Winners

When it comes to the Oscars every year there is a film that is tipped to win everything, that didn’t happen this year however the biggest winners on the night winning 5 awards was both The Artist and Hugo however The Artist went away with 3 of the main awards where’s Hugo only took away the technical awards.


The only other film to take away more than one award was The Iron Lady however again one of the awards was for a technical category, the rest of the awards were spread out between The Descendants, Midnight in Paris, The Help and Girl With the Dragon Tattoo to name a few.

Best Actress – Meryl Streep – The Iron Lady

Best Supporting Actor – Christopher Plummer – Beginners

Best Supporting Actress – Octavia Spencer – The Help

Best Adapted Screenplay – The Descendants

Original Screenplay – Midnight in Paris

Best Animated Film – Rango

Art Direction – Hugo

Visual Effects – Hugo

Best Cinematography – Hugo

Best Original Score – The Artist

Best Sound Editing – Hugo

Sound Mixing – Hugo

Best Editing – The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Best Make up – The Iron Lady

Best Costume Design – The Artist

Best Foreign Language – A Separation

Best Documentary – Undefeated.
