US Box Office Top 10 – 09-11/03

Nothing could topple The Lorax off the top spot despite it making nearly half the amount it did last week and also one of the most expensive films of the year challenging it.

3 new films went into this weeks top 10, first off going in at a low 6 was live action comedy from Dreamworks starring Eddie Murphy A Thousand Words, doing better by going in at number 4 even though it got a F from cinemascore (pointless site) was Silent House, finally though going in at number 2 and bombing at the box office is John Carter (you can’t say Of Mars).

10 – This Means War – $3.600.000 – $46.700.000

9 – Journey 2: The Mysterious Island – $3.600.000 – $90.600.000

8 – The Vow – $4.000.000 – $117.600.000

7 – Safe House – $4.800.000 – $115.600.000

6 – A Thousand Words – (NE) – $6.200.000

5 – Act of Valor – $7.000.000 – $56.100.597

4 – Silent House – (NE) – $7.010.000

3 – Project X – $11.500.000 – $40.100.000

2 – John Carter (not of Mars) – (NE) – $30.603.000

1 – The Lorax – $39.100.000 – $121.950.000

New Releases – A bit pointless this week as there is only 1 new film of note release and that’s 21 Jump Street starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill.
