US Box Office Top 10

It will come as no surprise to read that last weeks number 1 Snow White and the Huntsman couldn’t hold on to the top spot for more than a week as it had very stiff competition from 2 new films.

Only 2 new movies graced this weeks chart however they were big releases, first off going in at number 2 was Ridley Scott’s return to Sci-Fi with Prometheus however it was the 3rd in the Madagascar series in the form of Madagascar 3: Europe’s most wanted that was the highest new entry going straight into the number 1 spot but it was released on 600 more screen’s than Prometheus.

10. Moonrise Kingdom – $1.579.000 – $3.750.000

9. The Dictator – $2.150.000 – $55.189.000

8. Battleship – $2.286.000 – $59.830.000

7. What to Expect when your Expecting – $2.710.000 – $35.745.000

6. Best Exotic Marigold Hotel – $3.235.000 – $31.009.000

5. The Avengers – $10.809.000 – $571.860.000

4. Men in Black 3 – £13.500.000 – $135.505.000

3. Snow White and the Huntsman – $23.021.000 – $98.500.000

2. Prometheus – (NE) – $50.000.000

1. Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted – (NE) – $60.350.000

New Releases – only 2 new films are out this week and i don’t think they will bother the chart that much, first off is comedy film starring in Adam Sandler, That’s my Boy, however the big release of the week is musical with Tom Cruise in Rock of Ages.
