US box office top 10

Well Jack fought off the fight from other films for only 1 week as one of this weeks new entries has gone and cut down his beanstalk.

The chart only saw 2 new films this week, first off going in at number 4 was thriller Dead Man Down.  This weeks highest new entry and the film that has taken the most in one weekend this year is OZ the Great and Powerful.

10. The Last Exorcism 2 – $3,120,000 – $12,083,000

9. Escape from Planet Earth – $3,207,000 – $47,832,000

8. Silver Lining Playbook  -$3,745,000 – $120,749,000

7. Safe Haven – $3,800,000 – $62,884,000

6. 21 and Over – $5,056,000 – $16,840,000

5. Snitch – $5,100,000  -$31,855,000

4. Dead Man Down – (NE) – $5,350,000

3. Identity Theft – $6,319,000 – $116,530,000

2. Jack the Giant Killer – $10,020,000 – $43,811,000

1. OZ The Great and Powerful  –(NE)  -$80,278,000

New Releases – Like with last week there are only 2 big films out this week.  Your first film of choice is Thriller The Call with comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone being the other film on offer.  There is one other film i would like to point out and that’s from the amazing people at Studio Ghibli and that’s From up on Poppy Hill.
