As predicted last weeks number 1 Olympus Has Fallen only managed to make it one week at the top of the chart as the only new film out this week smashed it off it’s perch.

You can probably guess what film went straight into the number 1 spot but just encase you don’t know it was Iron Man 3 by taking just under £14 million in it’s opening weekend but how well did it do against the other films in the series and ultimately against The Avengers.

Well first off this is the highest taking Iron Man film out of the 3 out doing the second in the series by £5 million pounds, the good news continues for the film as it has out done The Avengers with it’s global takings by more than $10 million however it’s not all good news, the film didn’t manage to take more than the Avengers in the UK as that managed just under £16 million in it’s opening weekend beating Iron Man 3 by nearly £2 million.

Oh and there was one more other film out this week just encase you forgot in the form of The Look of Love which went into the number 7 spot

New Releases – if you are after a new film to see this week then you have a couple of small films to choose from.  First off is comedy film from the creators of The Hangover, 21 and Over, your next movie choice is revenge thriller Dead Man Down and your final choice is comedy drama The Eye of the Storm.
