Well Gru and his minions have managed to hold on to the top spot for a second week despite stiff competition from two big films

Two new films entered this weeks chart, first off not doing as well as expected and only taking just over $38 million was Guillermo Del Toro’s big Robot’s VS Aliens film Pacific Rim.  This weeks highest new entry went to Grown Up’s 2 which managed to laugh it’s way into the number two spot.

New Releases – A lot of big films are out this week making it really hard to choose what to watch.  So if you want to go to the cinema for something new then you have horror film The Conjuring, comedy action sequel Red 2, Men in Black rip off R.I.P.D, animated film about racing slugs in Turbo and Nicolas Winding Refn teams up with Ryan Gosling in Only God Forgives.

3. Pacific Rim – (NE) – $38,300,000

2. Grown Ups 2 – (NE) – $42,500,000

1. Despicable Me 2 – $44,754,000 – $229,237,000
