US box office top 10

USTop10-film-reel-flag-edgesWell there was no chance that Despicable Me 2 could hold on to the top spot for another week as it had 4 big films breathing down it’s neck however you couldn’t of guessed what replaced it.

Four new films entered this weeks chart, first off going in at a really low number 7 and taking just over $12 million was sci-fi action comedy R.I.P.D, hitting the number 5 spot was action comedy sequel Red 2.  Going into the top three and at number three was animated film Turbo, Dreamworks worst debut for a animated film for a long time.  This weeks highest new entry went to supernatural horror from James Wan, The Conjuring.

New Releases – Only one new film of note is out this week and it’s Hugh Jackman returning to play The Wolverine

9. World War Z – $5,200,000 – $186,941,000

8. The Heat – $9,325,000 – $129,292,000

7. R.I.P.D – (NE) – $12,763,000

6. Pacific Rim – $15,955,000 – $68,235,000

5. Red 2 – (NE) – $18,500,000

4. Grown Ups 2 – $20,000,000 – $79,500,000

3. Turbo – (NE) – $21,500,000 – $31,203,000

2. Despicable Me 2 – $25,059,000 – $276,159,000

1. The Conjuring – (NE) – $41,530,000
