UK box office top 10

It’s really nice when you get a big shake up in the top 10 and this weeks is one of those times, last weeks number one The Wolverine could only hold on to the top spot this week thanks to a lot of new films giving it a good fight.

Five new films went into this weeks chart.  Firstly going in at number nine was violent drama Only God Forgives starring Ryan Gosling and directed by Drives Nicolas Winding Refn, the next new entry went to action comedy sequel Red 2 which only managed to go in at number seven however it did take just over £1 million.  We jump into the top three for the final new entries of the week and these films have taken over the chart, going in at number three was horror film from director James Wan, The Conjuring, hitting number two was action comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, The Heat.  The highest new entry and the new number one went to those blue annoying creatures the Smurfs in The Smurfs 2.
