US box office top 10

Insidious chapter 2 could only manage to hold on to the top spot for one week as it has given way to one of this weeks new films.

Three new films went into this weeks chart, first off going in at number nine was the 3D/Imax re-release of The Wizard of OZ, hitting the number five spot was dance drama Battle of the Year.  This weeks highest new entry and the new number one went to drama thriller Prisoners.

New Releases – a couple of new films are aiming to make a mark on next weeks top 10, so if you want too see a new film then you have animated comedy sequel Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, comedy Don Jon and romantic comedy Baggage Claim.

9. The Wizard of OZ (3D/Imax) – (NE) – $3,022,000

8. Riddick – $3,672,000 – $37,180,000

7. Lee Daniels’ The Butler – $4,304,000 – $106,452,000

6. We’re the Millers – $4,670,000 – $138,176,000

5. Battle of the Year – (NE) – $5,000,000

4. Instructions not Included – $5,700,000 – $34,262,000

3. The Family – $7,000,000 – $25,641,000

2. Insidious Chapter 2 – $14,500,000 – $60,855,000

1. Prisoners – (NE) – $21,430,000
