Nothing could shift Amazing Spiderman 2 from off the top spot this week despite very tough competition from one of this weeks new films (a unlikely one at that).

When it comes to new releases in this weeks top 10 it’s a bit of a strange mix as two films made there way into the top 10 and a live event snuck in there as well.  Firstly the live event which was opera Cosi Fan Tutte: Met Opera which found it’s way into the number seven spot from only one day’s takings.  When it comes to the new films at number three was Sci-Fi drama Transcendence and at number two was comedy The Other Woman.

New Releases – A lot of new films will be trying to get there way into next week chart, one film however is not eligible to mkae it into next weeks top 10 despite it being released this Saturday and that’s comedy Bad Neighbours.  The new films that can be counted towards next weeks chart include animated film Tarzan 3D, the latest epic from Paul W.S Anderson, Pompeii, British comedy thriller Plastic and Paul Walker in over the top action film Brick Mansions.
