US box office top 10 – W/E 08/06/14

Well Maleficent could only hold to the top spot for just one week as the magic of Disney has worn off, replacing it at the top of the chart was romantic drama The Fault in our Stars, the movie managed a impressive $26 million on it’s opening day.

The only other new entry in this weeks top 10 went to Sci-Fi action film Edge of Tomorrow which could only manage a number three spot and taking just under the $30 million mark, this isn’t good news for the Tom Cruise movie as the budget came in just under the $180 million mark and it hasn’t been doing as well over sea’s as well.

New Releases – Only two new films are on offer this week in the form of brilliant comedy 22 Jump street and animated sequel adventure How to Train Your Dragon 2.
