UK box office top 10 – W/E 21/07/14

Well Transformers: Age of Extinction didn’t stay at the top of the chart very long, despite it taking just over £11 million in it’s opening it has gone and dropped nearly £10 million in it’s second week, putting the film down to the number third spot.

This weeks highest new entry and new number one went to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Taking just under £9 million in it’s opening weekend it’s takings are much higher than Rise of the Planet of the Apes in it’s opening weekend.

Other new entries in this weeks chart went to kids film Pudsey the Dog: The Movie which went in at number seven, hitting the number five spot is the first of two live events with Andre Rieu’s 2014 Maastricht Concert and the second event was Money Python: O2 London which hit the number four spot taking over £1 million.

New Releases – A bit of a mix bag when it comes to new films this week so their is something for everybody, so on offer is action adventure Hercules, violent thriller sequel The Purge: Anarchy, children’s adventure Earth to Echo and small drama Joe.
