UK box office top 10 – W/E 08/09/14

Lucy’s reign at the top of the chart had to come to a end sometime and this week is the week when the film is no longer sitting at the top of the chart, taking it’s place is the latest comedy starring Jason Segal and Cameron Diaz in Sex Tape.

When it comes to the other new films in this weeks top 10 none of them managed to break the £1 million mark however they did manage to give the chart a little bit of a refresh look.

So other new films in this weeks chart included dark thriller The Guest going in at number eight, light drama The Hundred-Foot Journey which managed to go into the top five hitting the number four spot and thriller Before I Go to Sleep which went in at number three.

Upcoming – This week finally see’s a film that could go in at number one and take more than £3 million lifting the fortunes of the chart as it spent a second week on a slight decline from this time last year, the film in question that could do this is animated adventure The Boxtrolls.  Other films on offer include British comedy in the vain of The Full Monty with Pride and one of Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s last films A Most Wanted Man.

US Chart

What a terrible week for the US top 10 as it saw it’s lowest takings in over five years, no new film managed to break the top five so the chart remains pretty much the same as last week except the number five and six movie swapping around.
