Box office top 10 – 22/09/14

Last week the Boxtrolls managed to charm the paying public last week and found it’s way at the top of the chart, it seem’s that the charm hasn’t wore off as it spends a second week at number one despite a big challenge from this weeks highest new entry A Walk Among the Tombstone which only missed out on the top spot by just under £20,000.

Other new entries in this weeks chart went to strange documentary 20,000 Days on Earth which see’s us spend a day in the life of musician Nick Cave.  The other new entry went to British drama The Riot Club which went in at number five.

Missing out on the top 10 by a huge margin was teen drama thriller The Giver which could only manage a very lonely number 14 spot and failed to even pass the £200,000 mark despite it opening in more than 230 screens.

Upcoming – The Boxtrolls might spend a third week at the top of the chart as this weeks crop of new releases shouldn’t challenge it that much, if however you are after something new to watch then you have thriller The Equalizer, British comedy What we Did on Our Holiday and very dark thriller Maps to the Stars.
