Box office top 10 – W/E 06/10/14

BoxOfficeTopTen1

Last weeks chart had a very strange number one in the form of Billy Elliot: The Musical Live, this weeks chart however has a very straight forward number one in the form of David Finchers Gone Girl, the film is Finchers most successful movie to date even though Girl with the Dragon Tattoo opened up to better numbers, the reason behind this is down to the fact Girl with the Dragon Tattoo opened over the New Year weekend so it had extra days to take the amount it did.

other new entries in this weeks chart included family drama sequel Dolphin Tale 2 which went in at number seven, Bollywood film Bang Bang and horror adventure film Dracula Untold which opened at number two.

A couple of other films of note that was released on Friday but failed to make any kind of impact included zombie horror comedy Life After Beth which only took just under £50,000, doing much much worse though was Kevin Costners latest film Draft Day which only took £146 from just 3 screens.

Upcoming – This weeks new films are a bit short on the ground, if however your after something new then your films of choice are horror spin off Annabelle from the Conjuring series and dark adventure film The Maze Runner.
