After the events of the previous Marvel Studio movies (in particular Avengers: Age Of Ultron and the destruction of the city of Sokovia) the world has become very aware of those enhanced with super abilities and wary of the collateral damage left in the wake of such events. After a mission ends in disaster and the deaths of innocent bystanders, the United Nations agrees that independent heroes, or rather “vigilantes” should be held accountable for their actions and be forced to sign up to the Sokovian accords, a sort of registration for enhanced individuals who would then be under the command of the United Nations. Review: Fantastic Four

Fantastic Four 2015Directed by: Josh Trank.

Starring: Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B Jordan, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, Reg E Cathey & Tim Blake Nelson.

Rating:Running Time: 100 mins.

The Fantastic Four, one of Marvel’s better known comic series, has had a rocky history when it comes to cinematic adaptations. The movie rights were purchased from Marvel in the 80s, and a movie was made to retain the rights which was never intended to be released to the public. Then 20th Century Fox bought the rights and made the first Fantastic Four movie to be released in 2005, closely followed by sequel Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer two years later, both of which were directed by Tim Story and were successful box-office performers, but were panned by critics and fans alike. Now, Fox has rebooted the franchise under the direction of Chronicle director Josh Trank. Read the rest of this entry

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron – Teaser Trailer

Joss Whedon brings us the second Marvel’s Avengers movie, with all the cast from the first movie returning and having to tackle the artificla intelligence Ultron, that has decided mankind may not be worthy of keeping around.

First Impressions: This looks dark, and supercharged compared to the first Avengers movie, which was action packed but also had some broad humour in it. No sign of that here, though expect some to be interjected throughout by Whedon, as well as his usual gut-punches that you normally don’t see coming. Avengers: Age Of Ultron is released in April 2015.
