Paul Walker (1973-2013) – Fast & Furious actor dies at 40

Actor Paul Walker died Saturday in a car accident in Valencia, California. He was 40 years old.  Best known for playing Brian O’Connor in the Fast & Furious Franchise, the actor had starred in over 40 titles in a career spanning the last 25 years, including Running Scared, (The Death And Life Of) Bobby Z, Eight Below, The Skulls, Varsity Blues, Timeline and the upcoming seventh in the Fast & Furious series which is due for release in 2014.

Though he caught the racing bug after starring in the first Fast & Furious movie in 2001 and enjoyed driving a car like those seen in that series, reports indicate that he was a passenger in a car that crashed into a lamp post and burst into flames, killing him and the driver.

The news was released early Saturday but believed to be a hoax until confirmed on the actor’s Facebook page:

“It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. – #TeamPW”

Universal, the studio behind the Fast & Furious series, released this statement:

All of us at Universal are heartbroken. Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the ‘Fast and Furious’ films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul’s family.

Human Centipede 2 gets UK release

Back in 2009 controversial unknown director Tom Six unleashed a movie on to the world that he described as ‘the most disgusting, obscene movie you will ever see’. However, when the film was finally released it turned out to be all talk, upon viewing I thought it was rubbish and didn’t even go to the realms of depravity the director said it was. That movie was called the Human Centipede and the director seems to be at it again. Read the rest of this entry
