UK box office top 10

What a week in the chart it has been, not only has last weeks number one The Smurfs 2 been knocked off the top spot by one of this weeks new entries but Despicable Me 2 has become the highest grossing film of the year, even though it’s not in the top 10 it has gone past Les Miserables which took just over £40 million.

Five new films went into this weeks chart, firstly going in at number 10 and becoming the highest debut grossing Bollywood film is Chennai Express.  Going into the top five and at a very low number five was big blockbuster The Lone Ranger, at number three is terrible comedy sequel Grown Ups 2.  Now the top two films only had a gap of just under £30,000 between them, so at number two was Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters and this weeks new number one is Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa.
