Monday Movie Show Catch Up (28/05/12)

Catch up with this week’s show as we review the return of Will Smith as agent J and Tommy Lee Jones as Agent K in Men In Black 3, and we also give a little look ahead to an upcoming movie we’re excited about.  On Blu-Ray/DVD we review superhero movie with a twist from first time director Josh Trank, Chronicle, winner of five Oscar awards silent film The Artist, romantic drama Like Crazy, Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson goes on a Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, drama/thriller in movie Martha Marcy May Marlene,  Sci-Fi comedy in the small movie Iron Sky and hard hitting drama Michael, plus the latest movie news, UK Box office and DVD/Blu-Ray top 10’s.

Coming up this week (28/05/12)

US Box Office Top 10 – 17-19/02

Last weeks number 1 The Vow couldn’t hold on to the top spot for more than a week despite putting ina good fight with the film that has managed to knocked it off the top spot and thats last weeks number 2 Safe House.

3 new films graced this weeks top 10, first off going in at a impressive number 9 spot is the brilliant animated film Arrietty, doing better but not as nearly as good as hoped was This Means War that went in to the number 5 spot however it was Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance that was the highest new entry this week however it could only go in at number 3.

New Releases – Even though there are 3 new films out this week none of them shine, first off is thriller Act of Valor, next up is another thriller however this stars Amanda Seyfried Gone and finally another Tyler Perry film in the form of Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds.

UK Box Office Top 10 – 14/02/12

If you thought that the US top 10 was a interesting one this week then the UK one will surprise you, Chronicle last weeks number 1 could not hold one to the top spot for more than a week as four films gave it a very good beating.

4 new movies graced this weeks top 10 infact they took over the top 4 spots, first off going in at number 4 was the romantic drama The Vow, going in at number 3 was the first Star Wars film to be released in 3D in the form of the Phantom Menace, hitting the number 2 spot was the return of The Muppets this time under the wing of Disney and finally a surprised number 1 in the form of The Woman in Black.

New Releases – When it comes to new release this week has to be the worst as there is only 2 new films coming out, first up is drama about 9/11 Extremely Loud and Incredible Close and the second new release is Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance the sequel to Ghost Rider but this time done by the crazy duo behind Crank and Gamer

US Box Office Top 10 – 10-12/02

New entries are fully in charge of the top 10 this week so much so last weeks number 1 Chronicle has been knocked down to the number 5 spot despite adding another $12 million to it’s balance.

4 films managed to get into the top 10 this week and all four make up the top part of the chart, first off going in at number 4 was the first Star Wars films to be given the 3D treatment, Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace 3D, next up at number 3 was the Rock in kids film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, hitting the number 2 spot was thriller Safe House however it was romantic drama The Vow which has surprised the top 10 by going in at number 1.

New Releases – Even though there are only 3 films out this week 2 of them are big films however the other one should been seen, so first off the US finally gets the brilliant Arrietty, then the romantic action film This Means War will be trying to tempt you however the next Ghost Rider film in the form of Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance has the biggest chance to get to the number 1 spot.

UK Box Office Top 10 – 07/02/12

Poor War Horse couldn’t hold on to the top spot for another week as it had a huge challenge against a lot of this weeks new entries and it was one of those that managed to knock it off the top spot.

5 new films graced the top 10 this week ,first off going in at number 10 was Roman Polanski’s new film Carnage, hitting a low number 6 spot was Man on a Ledge starring Sam Worthington, doing a little bit better is one of the worst films I have ever seen Jack and Jill, The Rock shows that he can handle a kids movie by going in at number 2 with Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, however it was the fantastic thriller Chronicle which managed to hit the top spot on it’s first week.

New Releases – Even though there are only 4 new films out this week of note 3 of them are really big ones, first off David Cronenberg’s new film starring Michael Fassbender A Dangerous Method, then the first Star Wars film to be retro fitted into 3D Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, next up Daniel Radcliffe throws away Harry Potter to star is ghost film The Woman in Black and finally the first Muppet film under Disney finally hit’s our shores in the form of The Muppets.

Liam Neeson’s latest film couldn’t hold on to the top spot for more than a week as it was knocked off by one of this weeks new entries.

3 new films graced the top 10, first off going in at number 4 was the Drew Barrymore drama Big Miracle, next up hitting the number 2 spot was Daniel Radcliffe latest film The Woman in Black however it was Chronicle that managed to hit the top spot however it was very close with the number 2 movie.

Coming Up on this Weeks Show – 06/02/12

On this weeks show we will be reviewing cinema releases that include Sci-Fi action drama Chronicle, Sam Worthington is a Man on a Ledge, Elizabeth Olsen makes her acting debut in drama/horror Martha Marcy May Marlene, Jodie Foster and John C Reilly have a argument with another couple in Carnage and Adam Sandler plays both Jack and Jill in comedy film Jack and Jill.  In the Blu-Ray/DVD part of the show we will be reviewing RomCom Friends With Benefits, another 80’s remake in the form of Footloose, romantic drama One Day, nerving British thriller Tyrannosaur and Woody Allen latest film Midnight in Paris, if that’s not enough we also have the latest movie news and hopefully both UK and Blu-Ray/DVD top 10.

Nothing seems to be able to remove War Horse from the top of the charts despite 3 film’s trying the best to knock it off the top spot.

New Releases – It’s a bit release for movies this week so a lot of films will be trying to smash there way into the top 10 next week.

First off the Rock stars in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Adam Sandler pops up twice as Jack and Jill in Jack and Jill, 4 actors battle it out in Carnage, Elizabeth Olsen makes her acting debut in Martha Marcy May Marlene, Sam Worthington is stuck as A Man on a Ledge and finally the film that is making everybody look up is Chronicle.

The 2 small films are the really tense British thriller Kill List and the latest film from Ti West the director behind The House of the Devil, Innkeepers, however it’s Drew Barrymore’s new film Big Miracle, the movie that causing a lot of people to pay attention Chronicle and ghost film starring Daniel Radcliffe Woman in Black that will be fighting to get into the chart next week.
