UK Box Office Top 10

 

Not a very interesting week with the top 10 as no new film could shake Ted from the top spot with the film now breaking a record with it being the highest grossing non sequel comedy over the space of a 10 day period.

2 new films graced this weeks chart, first off going in at number 10 is violent thriller/drama Offender, however it was the all dancing Step Up 4: Miami Heat which was the highest new entry going in at number 3 however that’s where the good news stops for the film as it has taken nearly £2 million less than the 3rd film in the series on it’s debut weekend.

New Releases – 4 new films will want to crack there way into the top 10 next week, first off is romantic drama/comedy Take this Waltz, your next choice is romantic comedy The Wedding Video, your next choice is insane over the top action film with a cast that would make any action fan wet himself with The Expendables 2, your final choice this week and the movie that should go straight into the number 1 spot is The Bourne Legacy.

UK Box Office Top 10

 

It’s so nice too see that the UK box office can throw up a few surprise and this weeks chart has not disappointed as not only there is a new number 1 knocking last weeks chart topper film The Dark Knight Rises off the top spot but another film has made a surprise re-entry into the chart.

When it comes too new entries in the chart their is 2 proper new entry in the chart, first off is Dairy of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Day’s which went into the number 3 spot, However it was Ted that surprised us by not only going in at the number 1 spot knocking the Dark Knight off his perch but by also taking a huge £9.3 million.  There was another new entry of sort’s which is Brave as it hit the number 6 despite it only being shown in Scotland and Ireland.  Their was a extremely surprising re-entry into the chart for Mirror Mirror which went back into the number 9 spot 18 week’s after it’s initial release.

New Releases – A bit of a weird week for new releases, only 1 film of note is out on Friday and that’s the 4th in the Street dance series this time it’s Street Dance: Miami Heat, your next new film of choice is not out until the Monday and it’s another 4th in the series this time it’s The Bourne Legacy, your final choice is a new release in England, Northern Ireland and Wales with Pixar’s Brave that has already seen itself thrown into the Scotland and Ireland box office.

UK Box Office Top 10

Too say that’s it’s a strange week when it comes to the top 10 is a bit of a understatement however 1 thing that has remained normal is that The Dark Knight Rises has managed to hold on to the top spot for a second week.

3 new films found there way into the top 10 and 1 very surprising entry, first off going in at number 9 is bollywood film Carry on Jatta (not the next carry on film), the next new entry went to documentary Searching for Sugar Man, however it was Dr Seuss’ The Lorax that was the highest new entry going straight into the number 2 spot.  One other film managed to make a surprise re-entry in at the number 8 spot and that’s Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists.

New Releases – only a couple of films too choose from this week and 1 of them is only released in Scotland.  First off if you live in Scotland then you can see the latest Pixar animated film Brave 10 day’s before anybody else, your next choice is the 3rd in the Dairy of a Wimpy Kid series this time he is suffering from Dog Days, however the biggest film of the week is the Seth MacFarlane comedy Ted.

 

US Box Office Top 10 – 13-15/04

Despite stiff competition from 2 new entries this week the Hunger Games can still not be moved from the top of the chart.

3 new films graced the top 10, first off going in at a low number 9 was sci-fi/action thriller Lockout, doing better but should of gone straight into the number 1 spot was the brilliant The Cabin in the Woods however it was comedy The Three Stooges that was this weeks highest new entry going in at number 2.

New Releases – There is very little of note out this week however if you want to go and see something new then the only film of note out this weeks is romantic drama starring Zac Efron, The Lucky One.

Nothing seems to be able to knock the Hunger Games off the top spot despite one of this weeks new entries giving it a good go.

2 new films graced the top 10 this week, first off going in at number 3 is the re-release of Titanic in 3D however it was the 4th entry for Jim, Stifler and friends in American Reunion that was the highest new entry hitting the numebr 2 spot.

New Releases – 3 new films are out this week including one of my most anticipated releases of the year, first off there is action thriller Lockout starring Guy Peace, secondly is the comedy film that nobody wanted The Three Stooges and finally horror thriller film written by Joss Wheadon The Cabin in the Woods.

Last week Safe House managed to claw the top spot for itself however it couldn’t hold on to the top spot for more than 1 week as one of this weeks new entries has taken the position for itself.

4 new films graced the top 10 this week, first off going in at number 9 was thriller Gone, hitting one spot higher at number 8 was comedy Wanderlust from the director of Role Model’s, hitting the number 2 spot is Tyler Perry’s Good Deed’s however it was drama Act of Valor that went straight into the number 1 spot and also taking the highest new entry award.

New Releases – Like a few weeks ago this weeks new releases are very small, in fact there are only 2 new films out this week of any note, first off is animated film Dr Seuss’ The Lorax and secondly comedy from the director of the Hangover, Project X.
