Coming up on this weeks show we only have one cinema film to review but it’s a big one, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Iron Man, Hawkeye and Black Widow team up to take down Loki in The Avengers Assemble. On Blu-Ray/DVD we review the fourth Mission Impossible film and the live action directorial debut of Brad Bird, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Meryl Streep attempts to bring more heart to Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, the spiritual sequel to the Wicker Man, The Wicker Tree and documentary from Werner Herzog, Into the Abyss, on top of this we have the latest movie news and the UK Box Office and Blu-Ray/DVD top 10.

When it comes to the Oscars every year there is a film that is tipped to win everything, that didn’t happen this year however the biggest winners on the night winning 5 awards was both The Artist and Hugo however The Artist went away with 3 of the main awards where’s Hugo only took away the technical awards.
The only other film to take away more than one award was The Iron Lady however again one of the awards was for a technical category, the rest of the awards were spread out between The Descendants, Midnight in Paris, The Help and Girl With the Dragon Tattoo to name a few.

It seems that you don’t have to speak in a film to claim the plaudits during awards season as the silent black and white film The Artist proved at last night BAFTA’s taking a massive 7 awards home with it.
British films also did really well at the BAFTA’s last night with Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Senna and the Iron Lady taking 2 awards each alongside Hugo, however there were also wins for the fantastic Tyrannosaur, Beginners and Harry Potter making it a fantastic night for British Cinema
Other films that walked away with awards were animated film Rango, Spanish film The Skin i Live in, drama The Help and kids film.
