UK Box Office Top 10

It’s a very insane week when it comes to the top 10 as 5 films try to beat Avengers Assemble off the top spot and despite very stiff competition from one of them the Avengers still won the fight and have stayed on top of the chart.

As said above there are 5 new films in this weeks chart, going in at number 9 was horror remake Silent House, hitting the number 5 spot is the latest action film with Jason Statham in it, Safe, one spot above that is the 3D re-release of Beauty and the Beast, one more spot above that is drama film with Zac Effron, The Lucky Ones however it was the return of the gang in American Pie Reunion that was the highest new entry going in at number 2.

US Box Office Top 10 – 04-06/05

I don’t think anybody will be surprised to hear that last weeks number 1 Think Like a Man has been knocked off the top of the chart by the only new entry to get into the top 10.

As predicted The Avengers went straight into the  number 1 spot however none would of thought that it would smash records by taking the most money over the weekend hitting the $200 million mark however it’s the fact that it’s taken more than the whole run of Captain America and Thor in only it’s first weekend.

10 – The 3 Stooges – $1.800.000 – $39.637.000

9 – Chimpanzee – $2.395.000 – $23.012.000

8 – Safe – $2.470.000 – $12.874.000

7 – The Raven – $2.508.000 – $12.047.000

6 – The 5 Year Engagement – $5.100.000 – $19.200.000

5 – Pirates! Band of Misfits – $5.400.000 – $18.563.000

4 – The Lucky One – $5.510.000 – $47.917.000

3 – The Hunger Games – $5.700.000 – $380.727.000

2 – Think Like a Man – $8.000.000 – $73.029.000

1 – Marvel’s The Avengers – (NE) – $200.300.000

New Releases – Like last week there is only 1 film of note out this week however i don’t see it knocking The Avengers off the top spot but Tim Burton’s latest film with Johnny Depp, Dark Shadow will have a good go.

UK Box Office Top 10

It’s was very obvious that Battleship couldn’t hold on to the top spot for another week seeing as the biggest release of the year was creeping up behind it.

1 new film graced this weeks chart and it was very obvious even to a person living in a hole that it was going to go straight into the number one spot taking an insane amount of money and that film is Avengers Assemble.

*Update: As of 02/05/12 Avengers Assemble has now hit the £18.4 million mark.

New Releases – There are a lot of films out this week but i doubt any of them will knock Avengers Assemble of the top spot, first off is the 3D re-release of Beauty and the Beast, next is romantic drama starring Zac Effron in the Lucky One, the latest Spanish film to get a remake is also released this week in the form of Silent House, Jason Statham is back in action mode in Safe and finally the full gang return of a big meet up in American Pie Reunion.

US Box Office Top 10 – 27-29/04

Despite there being 4 new films in this weeks top 10 none of them could managed to knock last weeks number 1 off the top spot so Think Like a Man has spent another week at number 1 and it should be it’s last.

As said above 4 new films graced this weeks chart, first off going in at number 7 was horror film based on the last few days of Edgar Allen Poe, The Raven, going in one space above that at number 6 is the latest action film with Jason Statham, Safe, one more space above that at number 5 is the Five-Year Engagement however Pirates:Band of Misfits was the highest new entry going in at number 2.
