Monday Movie Show Catch Up (23/01/12)

This weeks show is now available to listen to, this week we have cinema reviews of the fourth Underworld film Underworld Awakening, Jonah Hill in slacker comedy The Sitter and Steven Soderbergh’s latest all star thriller in Haywire.  On  Blu-Ray/DVD  we take a look at comedy The Change Up with Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman, The Debt with Helen Mirren and Sam Worthington, the latest comedy from the director of Zombieland, 30 Minutes or Less, Kevin Smiths penultimate film Red State, the third in the Hostel series Hostel 3, Lars Von Trier very depressing drama Melancholia and finally Shark Night from the director of Final Destination.  On top of all of that we take a look at the latest movie news and go over the Box Office and the Blu-Ray/DVD top 10, plus our DVD catch-up of the week is Powder.

US Box Office Top 10 – 20-22/01

A interesting week for the US top 10 as last weeks number 1 Contraband couldn’t hold on to the top spot for more than a week with the 4th in the Underworld series knocking it off.

3 new entries graced the top 10 this week, first off going in at a low number 5 was Steven Soderbergh’s latest film Haywire, doing much better by hitting the number 2 spot was drama Red Tails which we here cannot wait for however it was the latest Underworld film Underworld Awakening 3D that went straight into the number 1 spot.

New Releases – 3 films will be trying there best to get into the top 10, first off is action comedy starring Katherine Heigl One For the Money, then there is thriller Man on a Ledge that we are looking forward to a lot and finally Liam Neeson gets lost in The Grey.

UK Box Office Top 10 – 16/01

Ethan Hunt and his team could not hold on to the top spot for another week as a four legged animal has come and knocked them off the top.

There were a total of 3 new entries in the top 10 this week, first off going straight in at number 10 was the sex drama Shame, doing much better by going in at number 6 was Sci-Fi film the Darkest Hour however it was Steven Spielbergs latest film War Horse which managed to hit the top spot.

There are 6 films out this Friday that will be trying there best to get into the top 10, first off there is the latest film from Madonna W.E, then we have J.Edgar starring Leonardo DiCaprio, then Shakespeare get’s a 21st century upgrade with Coriolanus, Jonah Hill’s last film before we see him in a slimmed down version of himself  in the Sitter, Steven Soderbergh latest action thriller with a huge cast Haywire and finally the fourth in the Underworld series in the form of Underworld Awakening 3D.
