UK Box Office Top 10 – 13/03/12

Despite it moving up to the top spot last week The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel could not hold on to the top spot for more than a week as one of this weeks new entries has knocked it off it’s throne.

3 new films graced this weeks top 10, first going in a lower than expected 9th spot was Bel Ami with Robert Patterson, doing a little bit better but again nowhere near what was expected of it was The Raven at number 8 however it was John Carter that went straight into the number one spot and again it took nowhere near the amount that it should of taken.

US Box Office Top 10: 13-15/01

It seems that last weeks number 1 the Devil Inside scarred so many people that it couldn’t hang on to the top spot for more than a week, in fact it couldn’t stay in the top 5.

There were 3 new entries in this weeks top 10, first off going in at number 3 was drama Joyful Noise, doing much better but not as good as it’s 3D counterpart was Beauty and the Beast 3D which went in to the number 2 spot however it was thriller Contraband that hit the top spot.

9 – War Horse – $5.607.000 – $65.779.000

4 – Joyful Noise – (NE) – $11.345.000

3 – Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol – $11.500.000 – $186.747.000

2 – Beauty and the Beast 3D – (NE) – $18.490.000

1 – Contraband – (NE) – $24.100.000

There are 3 big releases out this week however i have thrown in one wild card which i don’t think will get in the top 10 but i wanted to point it out.

The 3 big releases are action thriller from Steven Soderberg Haywire, then there is action drama Red Tails and finally the film that has the best chance of getting into the top 3 if not hit the top spot is Underworld Awakening.

The wild card is the one that interests me the most and if it’s opening in a theater near you go and see it and that’s Full Metal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos.

US Box Office Top 10: 6-8/01

This is the first US box office top 10 that we at the Monday Movie Show have done of 2012 and it’s a really good one to kick things off even though there was only 1 new entry but that film went straight into the number 1 spot.

Last weeks number 1 film and the film to kick off the US box office top 10 of 2012 could not hold on to the number 1 spot being knocked off by the first new horror film of the year the Devil Inside which managed to do much better than was thought of it despite getting some really bad reviews.

10 – New Years Eve – $3.270.000 – $52.000.000

9 – Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy – $5.770.000 – $10.400.000

8 – The Adventures of TinTin: The Secret of the Unicorn – $6.600.000 – $61.900.000

7 – We Bought a Zoo – $8.450.000 – $56.500.000

6 – War Horse – $8.600.000 – $56.800.000

5 – Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked – $9.500.000 – $112.000.000

4 – The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – $11.400.000 – $76.800.000

3 – Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows – $14.100.000 – $157.000.000

2 – Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol – $20.500.000 – $170.000.000

1 – The Devil Inside (NE) – $34.500.000

Bit of a mixed week for new entries next week, there are 4 films of note first off Mark Wahlberg’s new action film Contraband then there is comedy musical Joyful Noise, thirdly hot on the heels of the 3D release of the Lion King we have Beauty and the Beast and finally is horror film from Xavier Gens (Frontier) The Divide.
