Andrew’s 10 Best Movies of 2011

2011 was a year full of sequels and remakes (most of which were dreadful, some of which were not), but there were some real gems thrown in the mix which meant it wasn’t a total loss. Here is a break down of my top 10 of the year, whittling them down to just 10 was not easy. Read the rest of this entry

US Box Office Top 10 07-09/10

Last week’s number 1 a Dolphin Tale could only manage 1 week on the top spot after it had knocked the Lion King 3D off the number 1 spot the week before, in it’s place however is one of this weeks two new entries in the top 10.

The first of the two new film’s to crack the chart went to Drama The Ides of March that features a very impressive cast including George Clooney, Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Evan Rachel Wood, however it could stop the highest new entry and this week’s number one Real Steel from fighting it’s way to the top spot.

10 – Abduction – $2.900.000 – $23.369.000

9 – What’s Your Number – $3.050.000 – $10.306.000

8 – Dream House – $4.500.000 – $14.500.000

7 – The Lion King 3D – $4.552.000 – $85.962.000

6 – Courageous – $4.600.000 – $15.892.000

5 – 50/50 – $5.500.000 – $17.300.000

4 – Moneyball – $7.500.000 – $49.253.000

3 – Dolphin Tale – $9.160.000 – $49.070.000

2 – The Ides of March – (NE) – $10.400.000

1 – Real Steel – (NE) – $27.300.000

There are 3 film’s out this week in the US that will be trying to get into the top 10 and knock Reel Steel off the top spot, first off there is comedy with Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson in The big Year.

Also trying to get into the chart are two remakes the first being Footloose a remake of the musical that gave Kevin Bacon his first main leading role and my tip for the top and a film i can’t wait for The Thing.
