On the next Monday Movie Show (02/03/15)

 

Coming up on this weeks show, in the cinema section we take a look at feel good comedy drama sequel with The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Jennifer Lopez has to go toe to toe with the creepy Boy Next Door, Will Smith plays a con man in witty thriller Focus and the latest creep horror to crawl under your skin with It Follows.  In the home release section we take a look at Timothy Spall in drama about the famous strange artist Mr Turner, uplifting drama with a hint of comedy in Pride, Jake Gyllenhaal shows us the dark side of journalism in thriller Nightcrawler, Robert Downey JR stars in drama The Judge, Nicolas Cage is Dying of the Light and the fourth and final chapter in the REC series with REC 4, plus the latest movie news, UK box office top 10 & DVD/Blu-Ray top 10.

Box office top 10 – W/E 20/10/14

Gone Girl has had a fantastic run at the top of the charts and it had to come to a end sometime and that week has now come thanks to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Taking just under £5 million in it’s opening weekend the film started off with a better result than expected.

Other new entries in the chart included British comedy drama with a hint of music in Northern Soul the Robert Downey JR drama The Judge going in at number nine, and romantic drama The Best of Me going in at number five.

New Releases – A lot of new films are out this week so hopefully the chart will have a different look to it, on offer is war drama starring Brad Pitt and directed by David Ayre with Fury, horror film that has been getting high praise with The Babadook, animated adventure in The Book of Life and Bradly Cooper stars in drama Serena.

US Chart

Over the last few weeks the chart has had a bit of a comeback compared to previous months, this week however saw takings down around 20% from the previous weeks, this however didn’t stop new films from taking over the top five.

Three new films went in the chart including romantic drama The Best of Me going in at number five, animated adventure with The Book of Life which went in at number three and war drama Fury which went straight in at number one.

Coming up on this weeks show, in the cinema section we take a look at the return to the big screen for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Robert Downey Jr stars in drama comedy The Judge.  In a stupidly packed home release section of the show we take a look at live action disney adventure with Maleficent, British musical comedy drama with Walking on Sunshine, period British drama in Belle, Kevin Costner stars in thriller 3 Days to Kill, thriller in Cold in July,small creepy horror Oculus, French drama with Two Days One Night, the sixth, yes sixth Wrong Turn film, Jacob Goodnight returns in See No Evil 2 and to top things off strange comedy horror Bad Milo, plus as usual our TV movie of the week, the latest movie news, UK box office top 10 & DVD/Blu-Ray top 10.
