Monday Movie Show Catch Up (11/06/12)

Catch up with this week’s show where in the cinema section we review horror movie The Pact, Terrence Howard leads the first coloured air group in world war II historic movie Red Tails, and at a haunted hotel The Innkeepers get more than they bargained for. On Blu-Ray and DVD, Ryan Reynolds has to protect captured agent Denzel Washington in Safe House, the return of The Muppets, Leonardo DiCaprio plays the famous head of the FBI in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, Sam Worthington is a Man On A Ledge, and we’ll probably have yet another title for Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close, plus the latest movie news, UK Box office and DVD/Blu-Ray top 10’s.

Coming up this week (11/06/12)

UK Box Office Top 10

Despite it getting really bad reviews The Devil Inside went straight into the number 1 spot last week however it couldn’t hold on to that position for more than a week with the years first big film knocking it off the top spot.

2 new films graced the top 10 this week, first off going in at number 8 and splitting a lot of people was Act of Valor however it was the biggets film of the year so far that went straight into the top spot and it deserved it, The Hunger Games.

New Releases – 2 big new films are gracing your multiplex this week, first off Aardman going back to claymation with Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists and the 2nd and biggest release of the week is the follow up to the awful Clash of the Titans in Wrath of the Titans.

UK Box Office Top 10 – 20/03/12

Poor John Carter he couldn’t shake off the new entries this week to hold on to the top spot for more than a week.

4 new films found a nice comfy place in this weeks top 10, first off going in at number 6 was thriller film Contraband, doing a bit better by surprising us by hitting the number 5 spot was drama We Bought a Zoo, going in at number 2 is the really funny comedy film 21 Jump Street and finally hitting the top spot despite being panned by nearly everybody is found footage horror film The Devil Inside.

New Release – There are only 2 films of note out this week however both of them are really big films and they should at least get into the top 5, first off is drama/thriller/action film starring real navy seals in Act of Valor however the biggest release of the week is The Hunger Games.

Despite it moving up to the top spot last week The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel could not hold on to the top spot for more than a week as one of this weeks new entries has knocked it off it’s throne.

3 new films graced this weeks top 10, first going in a lower than expected 9th spot was Bel Ami with Robert Patterson, doing a little bit better but again nowhere near what was expected of it was The Raven at number 8 however it was John Carter that went straight into the number one spot and again it took nowhere near the amount that it should of taken.

New Releases – 4 big films will be trying to get into next weeks top 10 and i predict that all of them will fit in somewhere, first off is drama We Bought A Zoo based around a English man who actually did buy a zoo, next is 21 Jump Street starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, then we have Contraband the latest thriller starring Mark Whalberg and finally is horror from the people behind Paranormal Activity The Devil Inside.

None of the new release could knock the woman in black off the top spot how it was last weeks highest new entry the best exotic marigold hotel which managed this feat.

3 new films graced this weeks top 10, firstly going in at number 7 was comedy Wanderlust, doing a little bit better by hitting the number 6 spot was another comedy in the form of Project X however the highest new entry went This Means War going in at number 3.

New Releases – 3 big new films are out this week trying to entice you to go and see them, first off there is Bel Ami which stars Robert Patterson and then we have The Raven which tells the story about Edgar Allen Poe and finally the big release of the week is Disney’s John Carter.

It seems that Daniel Radcliffe has impressed alot of people for another week with the Woman in Black holding on to the top spot for another week despite stiff competition from 2 of this weeks new entries.

3 new films graced this weeks top 10, first off going in at number 10 was One For the Money, the first film to crack the top 3 was thriller Safe House which hit the number 3 spot however the highest new entry went to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel which hit the number 2 spot.

New Releases – 4 new films will be trying to entice you to spend your money on them this week, first of is comedy from the director of the Hangover, Project X, then there is action/comedy This Means War, then there is comedy from the director of Role Model’s, Wanderlust and finally the 3rd comedy of the week in the form of Hunky Dory.

UK Box Office top 10 – 21/02

It seems that nothing could shake last weeks number 1 off the top spot even though the second place film gave it a good try.

The interesting thing about this weeks chart is that 3 films in last weeks top 10 made more this week than they did last week however it was oscar favourite The Artist which managed to find it’s way back into the top 10, the biggest surprise however was that there was only 1 new entry in the form of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance which managed to hit the number 3 spot.

Monday Movie Show Catch Up (13/2/12)

Catch up with this week’s show which features reviews of the week’s cinema releases including the return of The Muppets along with Jason Segal, Amy Adams and Chris Cooper, David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method starring Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender and Keira Knightly, as well as a look at the 3D converted re-release of Star Wars: Episode I, The Phantom Menace. UK Box Office Top 10 – 14/02/12

If you thought that the US top 10 was a interesting one this week then the UK one will surprise you, Chronicle last weeks number 1 could not hold one to the top spot for more than a week as four films gave it a very good beating.

4 new movies graced this weeks top 10 infact they took over the top 4 spots, first off going in at number 4 was the romantic drama The Vow, going in at number 3 was the first Star Wars film to be released in 3D in the form of the Phantom Menace, hitting the number 2 spot was the return of The Muppets this time under the wing of Disney and finally a surprised number 1 in the form of The Woman in Black.
