Review: The Wolverine

Directed by: James Mangold.

Starring: Hugh Jackman, Famke Jannsen, Rila Fukushimo, Hal Yamanouchi, Hiroyuki Sanada, Svetlana Khodchenkova.

Rating: Running Time: 129 mins.

At the movie’s opening, Logan (Hugh Jackman) now lives away from civilisation in the Alaskan wilderness. Constantly reminded by his dreams of the loss of Jean Grey (Famke Janssen), he isolates himself from anyone who could potentially be harmed by him or being around him. During an encounter with a group of hunters at a bar Logan is approached by Yukio (Rila Fukushimo), a woman in the employ of Yashida (Hal Yamanouchi), a man who Logan saved during world war II. The first teaser trailer for Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, sees the return of the god of thunder to tackle an ancient evil, with the help of an Unexpected ally.

Thor: The Dark World is reased in UK cinemas on 30th October, 2013.

First Impressions: A western by Quentin Tarentino featuring a cast including Christoph Waltz, Jaime Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L Jackson? What’s not to like?!

Trailer: Skyfall (007)

The new movie, from director Sam Mendes featuring Ian Fleming’s agent 007, James Bond, now has a teaser trailer!

First Impressions: As a fan of the Bond movies, who has all of them on DVD/Blu Ray, I’m eager to see this! After the dissapointing brain dead Quantum Of Solace, this looks to include action, but also a plot – hopefully making it closer to Casino Royale than that.

Trailer: Resident Evil Retribution Teaser

Alice fights alongside a resistance movement in the continuing battle against the Umbrella Corporation and the undead.

First Impression: We are the Monday Movie Show and this is our world, yes it’s a teaser trailer and yes the first 30 seconds of the trailer is more like a advert for Sony but it does show there might be promise with this Resident Evil film seeing the scale of some of the stuff in the trailer.  I know i will be going to see it as i’m a bit of a sucker when it comes to the Resident Evil films
